Invitation to APMEN TechTalks webinar “Non-biological threats to Insecticide Treated Nets Effectiveness”

Welcome to the ‘APMEN TechTalks webinar’! The 19th APMEN webinar “Non-biological threats to Insecticide Treated Nets Effectiveness”, organized by APMEN Vector Control Working Group, that is scheduled on September 22 (Wednesday), 4:00 pm Singapore time.
Since 2014, over two billion Insecticide Treated Nets (ITNs) were distributed globally. The proven effectivity and impact of ITNs averted malaria cases and deaths and pooled global investments for scale-up of this preventive measure. With this global rollout, however, emerged biological (insecticide resistance) and non-biological threats (implementation quality of ITNs distribution) jeopardizing ITNs effectiveness. Join us as we look into ways we could address these non-biological challenges, and promote universal coverage for improved ITN access of populations who are most at risk of malaria.
The panelist members are Dr Khin Mon Mon, Senior Technical Director, URC-Defeat Malaria, Myanmar, Dr Hannah Koenker, Technical Director, Tropical Health LLP, United States of America, and Dr Angus Spiers, Director, Innovation to Impact (I2I), United Kingdom. The webinar will be moderated by Dr. Htin Kyaw Thu, Program Coordinator of APMEN VCWG, and Regional Representative (Asia Region) from Malaria Consortium.
