In parallel, the Aedes mosquito which spreads dengue fever and other viruses is invading new habitats and regions at an alarming pace. Improved water and sanitation is essential in control these mosquitoes breeding opportunities. Global and multi-sectoral coordination across the fields of healthcare, vector control, WASH, community engagement and many more is urgently needed and a global movement for a World Dengue Day is gathering pace.
